Every home has basic needs.  It is the same here at Evangel Home.

Nearly everything we have is donated. Among the items always needed are:
 
HOUSEHOLD AND PERSONAL

Paper products
Personal care items such as deodorant and disposable razors
Cleaning items
Personal pocket calendars
Medicine such as Tylenol, children’s aspirin, lice shampoo and non-alcohol cough syrup

FOOD
We cannot accept prepared food, but always welcome non-perishable goods such as:

Canned food
Coffee
Baby formula and food
Sugar
Cooking oil
Macaroni and cheese

FINANCES
Budget crunch. Budget deficit. Budget loss. All phrases depicting a bleak financial future, but one that Evangel Home has been operating under in recent times. Because our income - and ultimately our budget - depends solely on private donations we must base our annual projections on past records rather than guaranteed income. We do not accept any public or government funds.
 
We are asking your help in changing our financial direction. We need at least 2400 friends of Evangel Home to commit at least $24 each month for the next 24 months. That’s less than one dollar a day to ensure that our doors stay open and that we welcome needy women and children in the name of Jesus Christ as we have done for over 50 years. We already have approximately 1,000 regular donors. However, the size of our ministry has expanded faster than the numbers of our donors, and we need to recruit some reinforcements.
 
Evangel Home serves homeless women and children 24 hours each and every day of the year. Our devoted staff is here at 137 N. Yosemite—on God’s front line—providing comfort, counseling and security to nearly 500 women and children every year. Few can do what our staff does. They give all they have while receiving hardly more than minimum wage and little in the way of retirement plans.
 
We believe our ministry would be even stronger if the staff were given more financial security. One of the greatest things about Evangel Home is the investment we make in our residents. We have 20 staff members and eight of them are graduates of our programs! You helped change their lives at some point, and now they are helping to change others.
 
Your commitment of at least $24 for 24 months will help ensure that our current level of ministry remains secure for the next two years.

CASH – The most needed and easiest way to support Evangel Home is through fully deductible cash donations. Your gift will be used for general needs unless you designated that it be used for a specific area. Call us at (559) 264-4714 during normal business hours and we'd be happy to give you our mailing address. MEMORIALS AND HONORARIA – Contributions given in memory of a special person or in recognition of milestones and accomplishments serve as two gifts: one for the person you are recognizing and one for Evangel Home.

ENDOWMENT – Providing an endowment helps secure the future of Evangel Home through the establishment of planned giving in the areas of operations, improvements, programs and one unrestricted fund called Mustard Seed Endowment.
