Dear Friends,
Some donors may not be aware of Evangel Home's
Endowment and Planned Giving Program. What does this
mean to you and me as supporters of this ministry?
It means that we can make a gift to the Evangel Home
that will last forever (or at least until the Lord
returns). For example, you might decide that you
want to “endow” your annual gift. To do this, you
could make a one-time gift to the Evangel Home, now
or through your will or trust, which will provide an
annual income stream to the organization forever.
Typically donors give out of current income to
support the current operational needs of the
ministry. I refer to these gifts from the checkbook
to the checkbook. Endowment gifts are different;
often donors will fund Endowment Gifts with gifts of
assets rather than from current income. This can be
a current gift, or a gift to take place at some
point in the future. For example, many planned gifts
are gifts left to the ministry through will or
trust. In other cases a planned gift might involve
the transfer of property, such as a parcel of land
or rental property.
These gifts will require planning and coordination
between you, your professional advisors and
representatives of the Evangel Home, hence they are
known as “planned gifts.” Types of property that can
be used to fund an endowment gift include real
estate, stocks, art, jewelry, collectibles, old life
insurance policies, etc. The possibilities are
endless. There are often substantial tax benefits
available to Endowment donors, as well as the
spiritual satisfaction you will get from knowing
the
good your gift will do.
We will look forward to bringing you real life
stories of creative endowment gifts. If you would
