Celebrating Gerre Brenneman's 20th Year!

On May 16, 1988 Gerre Brenneman stepped through the pink door at 137 N. Yosemite and began her first day as the new Executive Director of Evangel Home.

She recalls being reluctant and quite sure that God had made a big mistake in leading her to accept the position. She felt no connection to anyone at the Home and didn’t see how the arrangement could possibly last more than a few months -- a year at most.

Well, that was almost 20 years ago and it is certainly evident to everyone connected with Evangel Home that God did not make a mistake. Not only has Gerre skillfully and lovingly led the day-to-day operations of the Home down through the years, but she has shown herself to be a skillful writer, dynamic speaker and expert organizer with innovative fresh ideas. Both the campus size and number of programs have tripled since 1988, thanks to her increditble vision to serve women in all stages of recovery from their homelessness.

We are planning events which will highlight not only Gerre’s 20 years, but also those members of the staff who have been at Evangel Home for at least that long. We will be announcing those dates within the next few months. Congratulations, Gerre!
