Take these steps if
you need shelter or a long-term program:
First...
Call (559) 264-4714 to see if we have any
openings. You will speak to the house manager or
receptionist on duty. She will tell you about rules
and expectations.
You will be asked some basic questions about your
situation. Feel free to ask questions also.
Second...
The next step is an in-person interview. An
appointment will be made for you to come in for an
in-depth interview. It will take about an hour. If
you have children, it is O.K. to bring them at this
time. Come to the interview ready to stay even
though we cannot guarantee that you will be
admitted. The staff member who does your interview
will also pray with you if you wish.
Third...
After the interview, you will be shown around the
Home and given a brief explanation of how everything
works. We want you to feel welcome here, and we
understand that this might be a stressful time.
Usually the first 24 hours are the hardest because
everything is new and unfamiliar. However, it gets
easier once you know the routine and what to expect.
We offer you the best
we have in a warm and supportive environment. There
is no charge for your stay, but we do ask that you
contribute to the household chores. We have
several
programs each with different rules,
requirements, and expectations. However, each area
has the following basics:
We are a non-smoking facility. No smoking is allowed
anywhere on our campus.
We do not tolerate alcohol or drug use.
We have curfews and times to be in the Home.
Everyone helps with household chores.
We maintain a dress code.
We have zero tolerance for violence either physical
or verbal.
If you would like to receive a list of basic rules
and expectations, please call us at (559)
264-4714 or send an email to
evh@evangelhome.org.
